UBS Asset Management Names Head of Impact Investing
UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) has created a new role to meet the growing demand from clients who want to see their money work to help achieve positive outcomes for society.
The Zurich headquartered asset manager has appointed Narina Mnatsakanian as head of impact investing, where she will lead the expansion of the firm’s impact investing offering, research and impact measurement capabilities.
Mnatsakanian, (pictured) will be based in Amsterdam and will join the firm’s sustainable investing leadership team. The team is led by Lucy Thomas, who was appointed head of sustainability at UBS Asset Management in December 2021.
Mnatsakanian joins UBS AM from Van Lanschot Kempen, where she served as executive director of sustainable and impact investment. During her five-year career with the firm’s subsidiary, Kempen Capital Management, Mnatsakanian managed the Global Impact Pool fund. She also worked as head of sustainable and impact investment, where she was responsible for setting and implementing sustainable investment policies.
Mnatsakanian gained experience in responsible investing in her role as head of networks of global outreach and emerging markets at Principles for Responsible Investment. She was also involved in developing asset class-specific workstreams for ESG integration, including fixed income and private equity.
