Tesla Offering Discounts in Singapore for Cars in Existing Inventory
According to the news agency Reuters, electric car maker Tesla is offering discounts for cars in its existing inventory in Singapore, where the Model 3 and Model Y are on sale.
The move follows price discounts Tesla announced in other markets in the Asia Pacific, including South Korea, China and Australia.
In the city-state, Tesla retails its cars directly to customers via an online store. Currently, prices for the cars vary depending on how a customer chooses from the firm's variety of paintwork and interior colours, however it appears that the financial enticement will not apply for those who choose to custom build their cars on the website.
The report says, customers with an existing internal combustion engine car can look forward to a discount of US$5,000 if they trade their vehicle in.
A rebate of the same amount will also apply to the Certificate of Entitlement (COE), which in Singapore gives you the right to own and use a vehicle.
This will mean that buyers can potentially enjoy a double discount if they meet both conditions.
