Singapore Has Removed All Covid-19 Border Constraints
Singapore lifted its remaining Covid-19 restrictions such as requiring masks on public transport as the country adjusts its disease outbreak response to the lowest level. And as of February 13, travelers to Singapore no longer need to show proof of vaccination upon arrival in the city-state.
Among other restrictions revised, those not yet fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will also not now be required to show proof of a negative pre-departure test.
Additionally, the country’s Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on February 9 that short-term visitors who are not fully vaccinated will no longer need to buy travel insurance that covers Covid-19 medical treatment in Singapore.
Prior to the announcement, visitors had been allowed to enter Singapore without testing or quarantine, with those aged 13 and above showing proof of having received the minimum dosage of Covid-19 vaccines at least two weeks before arrival in the country. Those who did not meet these requirements had to undergo pre-departure testing before they could enter the country.
The move formally lifts all remaining border measures that were put in place during the global pandemic.
However, the MOH stressed that these restrictions could be reintroduced should new severe variants develop, or if there are signs of strain in Singapore’s healthcare capacity.
